P.S.  Remember, you are only #4.  Barely.  Hanging onto it by a thread.  And it is a long contest.

  1. Congrats!

Instead of just showing an equity curve, can you show trades or somehow give the "average" trader some tips and pointers into how you do things?

  2. Thanks. I think I know what you're asking. Most trading blogs out there show a chart, some indicators, and an entry and exit point. By looking at it, you can figure out what they are doing.

Unfortunately, I can't really do that - for a couple of reasons. First, this system is not based on any indicator. It is based on statistical analysis. So, I could show you a chart where I entered, but sometimes my entries appear to make ZERO sense. Same with exits. Second, I really don't want to divulge too much about what I'm doing.

I can tell you that some retail platforms (Tradestation 8.6, PFGBest Best Direct 8) do not even fully offer what I am trading. It is a bit off the beaten path.

That being the case, I think I can provide a lot of info about trading, that is not strategy specific. Most people focus just on the strategy, but that is only a small piece of the trading puzzle.

So, keep an eye out for some (hopefully) helpful trading posts!

  3. "I can tell you that some retail platforms (Tradestation 8.6, PFGBest Best Direct 8) do not even fully offer what I am trading. It is a bit off the beaten path." <- When you said do not even fully offer, do you mean the futures contract types?

  4. Yes. Not all platforms support all futures types, or even all order types.

  5. And just to be fair, I do these both of these platforms daily. For the contest acct (PFG Best), I just have to do some trades sub optimally (i.e., not the way I'd like to).

    1. I know that you know a lot about Futures Trading. But can you give me some ideas on how can I be good on that too?

  6. Hi Jerome -
I assume you mean you want to get better at futures trading. A couple of tips: first, read through this blog. If you are developing your own approach, try reading my "Trading Process" series of posts. Second, read everything you can on the futures markets - books, blogs, etc. After reading for a while, you will realize what is good advice and what is bad advice. That is a big step. Third, visit my website (www.kjtradingsystems.com) for even more articles, videos.

    Good Luck!
